Hi everyone–

Thank you so much for your comments on my brand. I so appreciate your time and thought!

The winner of any book from my backlist is Engineer Queen.I forgot to ask you all to leave your email addresses and i don’t have your email, Engineer Queen. so please contact me at tara at taralain dot com so we can pick out your book.

You guys were so great. I really value your comments. I was confirmed in a few things and learned some new ones. I was confirmed that my characters are a part of my brand. They are a bit different and you guys seem to like that. I learned that the characters’ flaws are a special part of my book identity. A number of you mentioned the characters’ complexity as a favorite quality. And you certainly confirmed my friend’s statement that the love and the quality of the love are branding features.  And most everyone said that the heroes do not have to be gay (although some of you prefer it), they just have to be complex, unique and interesting. A few of you mentioned humor as a branding quality. I’m delighted to know you like it.

Some of you got to the heart of the matter talking about truth. One commenter said, “When I pick up a Tara Lain book, I expect truth and real love.  Whether it be truth in the strength of the romance, truth in the authenticity of the kind of experiences that transpire, or truth in the characters and how they stick to what they believe in life (even if they’re just discovering some new things about their true selves).” This was really interesting to me because i think i’ve shared with some of you that i find my books all turn out to be about authenticity — one of those truth words. My characters are always trying to live an authentic life even when i have no intention for that to be the subject of the book.

So thank you all so much. You are so encouraging and tell me that you look forward to my books coming out. That makes writing them even more fun. My next big new release will be Brush with Catastrophe (the sequel to Spell Cat) coming out October 30th. Before then, my Balls to the Wall Series first three books will be out in print. And i’ll have two new books for the holidays. Thank you again for your help.
