Hi everyone– Tomorrow starts the Wicked Warriors Blog Hop and you can win a Kindle Paperwhite. Meanwhile, i’ll share my crazy week and the great flood in My House! You know i was at GRL in Atlanta. I’ve been reporting back to you. Well, the morning i left home, at 2AM, i woke up and wondered why i heard water running. I got up and made my way in the dark to my bathroom thinking maybe the toilet was running. I stepped into an inch and a half of cold water, shrieked, my husband leaped out of bed, tore a muscle in his calf, limped upstairs and found the water shut off for the whole house. A pipe had burst in the wall in my bathroom on the second floor. I pulled on clothes and got on the phone to a flood remediation service while my honey meanwhile discovered that the entire lower floor of our house–his architectural 
office–was underwater! Fortunately, i was already packed. I found a cab that was available at 3AM and took off for the airport just as the flood service trucks pulled into our driveway. While i had a great time at GRL, you can imagine i was a little distracted, calling back to my honey as often as the crappy phone service in the hotel allowed.
We were supposed to go on vacation to Florida right after GRL. Instead, i got an early plane out of Atlanta and flew home to a pretty devastated house. It’s a three and a half story home and 11/2 stories are wiped out by water. Fortunately, my office is AOK so my honey is moving in with me and his staff members are occupying our dining room and living room. For a few days, we’ve been in a bed and breakfast right down at the bottom of our hill, but that won’t work for the long term. so today, the movers are taking our bed into another room that’s dry and we’re going to try to get established back in the house. Since we remodeled our house 15 years ago and lived in it during the process, this all feels awfully familiar.
The photos posted here show my husband’s poor office and the bathroom where the pipe burst. Sigh. Construction zone. Hmmm. Maybe the gourmet breakfast at the hotel where 
we’re staying made up for it a little!
