Tara Lain Receives CAPA Nominations for Genetic Attraction and as Favorite Author
“I can hardly believe it,” stated romance author Tara Lain. “The people on this list are my great heroes. I am honored to be named in the same breath.” Lain referred to the 2011 CAPA (Cupid and Psyche Awards) nominations from The Romance Studio announced today which named Tara Lain, a first year writer, among the 19 nominees for Favorite Author. Lain’s popular ménage romance, Genetic Attraction, was also nominated for best Contemporary Romance. “Since TRS changed their award criteria this year and grouped erotic and general romance together, this nomination seems particularly amazing to me,” said Lain. “I’m doing the happy Snoopy dance.”
The CAPA Awards from the Romance Studio honor excellence in romance fiction. Nominees have to first be selected for review by the Romance Studio in a given year. The nominations, however, are not based on the review received but on independent criteria. The Awards will be announced on February 14, 2012.
Tara Lain only began her fiction writing career with her first published book, Genetic Attraction, in January of 2011. “Of course, I was writing, editing and learning the craft all through 2010,” stated Lain. Since that first book, Lain has published five more erotic romance novels and has three more contracted for 2012. “I have accepted that in addition to my wonderful day job in marketing communications, I’m also a professional novelist. It’s a part of me. To have received an honor like this so early in my career as a fiction writer is a huge encouragement. I am delighted.”
Lain’s most recent release, Mistletowed, a unique ensemble novella, is currently available from Loose Id and Amazon. It will soon be available from all major resellers.
