The Year of the M/M by Lucy Felthouse
When I saw that Evernight Publishing had put out some more calls for submissions, I knew I’d only have time to do one of the two. They had the same theme, but one was m/f, the other m/m. Something made me decide to go for the m/m, perhaps because I find it more challenging to write than m/f or f/f, I don’t know. I just wanted to have a go at something a bit different.
But I must admit, I’m glad I did. Before HIS: Manlove Edition was released, I only had one m/m available, a short military erotic story called Ditched. And at the time, I was also working on another m/m for Ellora’s Cave, which I just signed a contract for. I’m also working on an m/m co-author project, so perhaps, for me, this is the year of the m/m!
I absolutely adore my story in HIS: Manlove Edition. It’s called Garden of Eden and I haven’t got a clue where the idea came from. One minute I had a blank page, the next I was writing about a submissive virgin Goth going to a BDSM club to find a Dom and pop his cherry. Dale’s a real sweetheart and I had a lot of fun creating him. The other lead character, Lee, isn’t quite what you’d expect, but he’s smokin’ hot. The two men are opposites in so many different ways, and yet, they get it together. That’s not really a spoiler, I don’t think, given it’s an erotic romance anthology 😀
So, yeah. Garden of Eden is my latest m/m, and you’ll only have to wait until December for my next one, Illicit Relations. And there will definitely be more in the pipeline. They may not release this year, of course, but I’ve written/am writing so much gay stuff that this is definitely the year of the m/m. And it’s so much fun!
