“Jerry?”
“Yeah.”
“Do guys kiss?”
Where did that come from? “You mean like gay guys? Sure, just like straight guys do.”
“I’ve kissed a girl.”
He almost laughed since it sounded like a song. No, Mick was deadly serious. “I’m sure you have.”
And then all hell broke loose.
Mick stepped forward and grabbed Jerry’s face in his big hands. Jeez, he couldn’t even catch a breath. Mick’s lips descended and all of a sudden Jerry had warm mouth and hot tongue all over the place.
What the hell? He froze. Should he pull back? No, he couldn’t insult Mick. That could hurt him. Umm. Besides, that tongue was suh-weet! He opened a crack, and weirdly Mick took full advantage, pressing into the recesses of Jerry’s mouth.
Well, hell. Andres’s kiss hadn’t really done it for him, but this? Everything about Mick, physically at least, suited Jerry down to the ground. He was bigger, stronger. Jerry could feel his biceps straining through the material of his uniform. His mouth tasted like heaven. He even smelled like Jerry’s idea of a good time. Kind of clean and musky at the same time.
How was this happening? No idea. Should he be doing this? No. Did he care? He should. Yes, he should. But then Mick moaned and pulled Jerry into his body tight. The last of the alcohol fumes from his little binge earlier drifted into his brain. Oh shit. Ruined. Jerry wrapped his arms around Mick’s neck and kissed him back like he wasn’t tongue fucking the biggest homophobe on the planet.
Question ONE: Whose kiss hadn’t really done it for Jerry?
EXCERPT TWO: Colorado Fire by Sara York
“You need to relax. Just let it all out,” Zander whispered.
Marshal’s dick did the opposite of relax, and he tried to move away, but Zander didn’t let go. His nose was pressed against Zander’s neck, and he drew in a deep breath, taking in the masculine scent of his best friend. The soap Zander used smelled like fresh mountains on a spring day. He loved catching a whiff of the man after a shower, but now, with his body pressed up against Zander’s, all he wanted to do was strip him naked and make love to him. Marshal lifted his head just a bit, placing his nose behind Zander’s ear. Little curls tickled Marshal’s nose, and he jerked back, lining his cheek up with Zander’s. The scruff felt good against his skin and he almost groaned.
Marshal hadn’t done it on purpose, but now they were cheek to cheek. Zander’s hands rested on the small of his back and his fingers were curling into Zander’s hips, holding him steady as he slid his lips over just a bit, lining up with Zander’s mouth. The first brush of lips could have been played off as a mistake, but the second slide of his lips against Zander’s couldn’t be brushed off as a slip-up. The moan from deep in his throat gave further evidence that he wanted this.
Had he been thinking straight, he would have pulled back, telling Zander he was sorry and it meant nothing. He didn’t do that. His tongue pressed against Zander’s lips, demanding entrance just as he tightened his hold on the man.
All of his fantasies and dreams didn’t come close to how wonderful it felt to be connected to Zander, his tongue sliding against Zander’s. Tasting a man for the first time made his throat squeeze, and he struggled to breathe before forgetting to take in air all together.
Hot and heavy came quick on the heels of the sweet brush of lips. Marshal pressed his hips against Zander’s, grinding hard. Their dicks bumped, and for a moment, he felt like he was going to shatter into a million pieces.
But it ended. Zander pulled back, gasping as he stepped away. His hand was on his lips, his blue eyes wide pools of confusion. Marshal wanted more, wanted it all, though he wasn’t sure how they’d get there, or who’d do what, but he wanted to feel Zander’s flesh up against his. One second passed with nothing said, then another. Marshal took a step toward Zander but his best friend bolted, unhitching Dusty and taking off at a gallop. He raced away from Marshal, a trail of dust in his wake
QUESTION TWO: What do all of Marshal’s hopes and dreams fall short of?

“I’ll be over in an hour.” Click. I held the phone from my face for at least five minutes and stared. When it started to beep like it’d spontaneously combust, I hung it up and groaned.
“My sister’s coming over,” I mumbled to Silo. Grinning, I grabbed a metal cooking pot lid off the counter and set it atop Silo’s head. “There—protective gear.”
Silo took the lid in his hands and checked to make sure it was clean before replacing it over his head. “I’ll go build a pillow fort in the bedroom, General. That’ll hold her for sure!”
“You’d better hurry if you want to hide out until the bombs are done dropping, soldier.” Bombs, ha. More like nukes. Big, explosive, can-wipe-out-a-major-city nukes.
“You can’t make me go, General.” Silo leaped to his feet and seized my arm. The whole of his weight barreled into my body as he pulled me into the bear hug of bear hugs. “I’ll see this through with you till the very end!”
We both stopped struggling—me to get out of Silo’s grip and Silo to hold on to me—and regarded each other for a long time. Something in Silo’s icy-blue gaze stirred my stomach. I felt like a can of soda being shaken—the bubbles rising up from the bottom of my belly and evaporating light and airy-like in my chest. And then Silo kissed me, and the bubbles popped.
“You taste like cola, General.” Silo rubbed my lower lip with his thumb, sneaking the tip down against my tongue. I sucked on it, tasting the remnants of red sauce in the grooves.
“You’re the one who tastes like cola.” I smiled. “You wanna—”
Silo took the lid from his head and set it on the counter. The metallic clunk startled me back to reality. “Want to what, sugar?”
“No, nothing.” You wanna break open that box of condoms? No, Mila would be here soon. We couldn’t. I couldn’t.
“Baby?” Silo’s blue eyes were trained on me, on my very soul, like a sniper. I sat in the crosshairs, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. “You can talk to me, remember? If you want, I mean.” Right, I didn’t need to run and hide anymore. Things had changed since that night five years ago…
“I’ll tell you later.”
QUESTION THREE: Where does Silo take the lid from?
EXCERPT FOUR: Waiting for Snow by JC Wallace
A short story from Christmas Delights: a Christmas Anthology by Love Lane Books

Jake stepped up behind Dain, who didn’t flinch or try to get away. Dain had always kept Mick in view, prepared for attack. The trust he had in Jake already was unprecedented. Safety and men didn’t mix for Dain. First, his father, and then Gary, a verbally abusive prick who Dain had endured for three months before Mick had come along, his knight in shining fucking armor. Because of those three, Dain believed men only wanted to destroy him. Not Jake. He’s different. While he believed it, there was too much blocking their way.
Strong fingers touched Dain’s neck, kneading the rock hard muscles. Dropping his head forward, Dain willed the relaxation to filter through every muscle of his body.
“What happened that night, Dain?”
Two thumbs rubbed over the top of Dain’s spine and he moaned. Any inkling of his migraine dissipated. Soaking in every inch of those hands, he said, “If I tell, it’ll grow arms and legs and a head and fucking eat me alive.”
Jake leaned over his shoulder and whispered. “I won’t let that happen. I won’t let anyone hurt you again.” Dain shuddered, and fuck, if he didn’t believe every word. But the minute he spilled the details of that awful night and his past, Jake’s touches would stop and he needed that touch like a man dying of thirst.
Warm air feathered across Dain’s cheek and Jake whispered, “I lied earlier.”
Dain licked at his dry lips. “About what?”
“I don’t want to be your friend, Sweetheart.”
The seductive whisper ran straight to Dain’s cock. Dain wanted to touch Jake, kiss him, lick him. No one had touched Dain since Mick. Fuck friendship.
“Don’t want that either.” God, his dick was speaking for him now.
Dain turned and a hot spike of desire shot straight to his core as their eyes connected. Jake’s chest rose rapidly and his eyes hooded. Dain placed a hand over Jake’s racing heart as Jake’s large hands settled gently on Dain’s hips. With shallow breaths, shaky legs, and heart pounding against his ribs, Dain lifted his chin.
“Kiss me,” he whispered.
Their lips crashed together like a breaking tide. Tongues tangled and the kiss took on an increasing urgency, but Jake pulled back and, with a frowning confusion, searched Dain’s eyes for something. Dain wanted to question him, but need overruled. Opening for another kiss, Dain ate at Jake’s mouth as if he were starving. Jake’s hands ran down Dain’s back then squeezed his ass. Dain bucked his hips and Jake answered with a buck of his own. Shit, a mammoth bulge pressed into Dain’s stomach. God, he wanted this man here and now, forever.
QUESTION FOUR: What did Jake lie about?
EXCERPT FIVE: Spark by Posy Roberts

A gentle kiss barely brushing against Hugo’s mouth startled him away from a peaceful, inattentive moment. He didn’t mind. He lay on soft grass cooled by the shade of trees. Kevin hovered upside down above him with his nose near Hugo’s chin. He felt a second kiss, almost softer than the first, bottom lips dragging and pulling against each other as Kevin lifted his head away and came in for yet another.
Hugo could feel Kevin’s soft breaths fan out over his mouth, could taste him, making him want to kiss again and again. And deeper. But Kevin kept it all sweet and tender, lips on lips, the sensitive pull and drag almost ticklish at some points.
A raindrop fell on Hugo’s cheek, but he ignored it. Nothing would pull him away from this perfect moment.
His tongue drifted up just a bit, lightly grazing Kevin’s lower lip as he moved toward Kevin’s chin, and the quiet, wet sounds of their mouths moving together was sinful to Hugo’s ears.
Another raindrop, followed by several more.
Hugo refused to give this beautiful instant up to something as trivial as getting wet, so he tilted his head, opening his mouth for something deeper—something that might ground them enough to ignore the rain that seemed to be coming down harder with each passing second. Kevin licked into Hugo’s mouth, intensifying the kiss, seeming to pour all his love into Hugo’s lips. Hugo tried to do the same, to share the moment with their mouths. They seemed to be informing each other of their love in a way their words never were able to manage.
Then water poured from the heavens, and they were drenched.
Kevin pulled away, quickly helping Hugo to his feet and dragging him by the hand away from the wooded meadow and toward the trail.
If Hugo had known that was to be the last kiss they would share, he would’ve stayed, kissing Kevin with water dripping down his face, into his ears, his mouth, his eyes—his clothes soaking through, his body getting cold. But he had run away from the green meadow framed by trees, following Kevin as tiny purple and pink flowers became a blur the faster they ran.
