Special writing habits –
Okay, I have read and read how many authors listen to certain music when they are writing. I am not one of those writers. Because I like music so much, it would be distracting to me as I write. For me, silence is golden. The quieter it is, the better. Then, I can immerse myself into the characters and world I am creating.
I am also one of those strange creatures that can write on several manuscripts at once. I might have fallen on my head as a child. But, it’s very difficult for me to work on only one story at a time. Too much is going through my mind. I could be writing about, say, Bob, and suddenly Bob’s brother Tom needs his story written too. It’s a never ending loop, and I can’t ignore it, no matter how hard I try. For me to get maybe 3,000 words written on one manuscript in a day is a miracle. (And worth posting on FB lolol) What is normal for me, is about 1,500 words written, on three to four different manuscripts in a day. And if I’m on a roll, more.
Another quirky habit I have, is editing as I go. I reread my manuscripts until they are practically ingrained in my head. When I open the story to continue writing, I reread it from the beginning, so I can drop back into the right mindset. And I edit. I correct. I add, I delete. I can’t go on with the story unless I do that step. And, no, I’m not OCD. Again, it’s probably that head hitting the ground thing.
And…I MUST be organized. Chaos around my manuscripts is a no-no. If I can’t find something within seconds, I get frustrated, and there goes my concentration. Writing for the day, bombed. So, my files look like…well, files. I even have them under certain headings and yes, they are color coded.
Don’t judge me.

About the author:
CR Guiliano is an avid reader, which logically morphed into the love of writing. She writes in many genres, but is most happy writing the love between two men (or more!). She makes them work hard for their HEA and considers herself an expert in angst. CR finds her favorite form of writing is in serials, where she can continue to write about characters who have captured her heart and she hopes to have captured her readers’ as well.
You will usually find CR cuddled up to her laptop creating stories to entertain, inspire, and bring your emotions to the surface. CR has a huge warren of plot bunnies that is growing every day, and can’t wait to fill out each story idea and share them all with her readers.
CR was proudly nominated in the Goodreads Best Anthology Nominations and was thrilled to be included with the many talented writers from the same anthology.

Actually, your orderliness is impressive! My whole house looks like a paper mill exploded…
I am like you when I read. I have to have silence or I can’t focus on what I’m reading. So I don’t listen to music or the t.v. when I read cause it’s distracting. Thank you for the giveaway.

I too need quiet when I’m working on the computer. If I’m reading something really light I can have classical music in the background, but that’s about it.
Most of the time, I’m one of those people who need background noise. As I get older, though, I find myself enjoying the quiet.
Thanks for the giveaway!
reading is quiet time for me
please count me in for the giveaway 🙂
I need silence too if I’m reading or working on my pc… I can’t listen to music or watch tv or speak to people, especially if I’m reading a really good book LOL
