Hi —
As you know, i’m at GRL15 in San Diego. So cool! I got to drive to GRL for the first time. I’ve attended GRL every year since it’s first in 20011 — except for last year when i had to drop out at the last minute because we sold our house and i had to pack! After places like New Orleans, Albuquerque, and Atlanta, packing my boxes in my car instead of shipping them a week early was truly a luxury. as a result, I spread out and packed stuff in individual boxes by event! At the left, you see all the swag set up by box — and there were two more in the car. Then at the last moment, my friend Eli easton called and said she was at her sister’s in Del Mar and could she hitch a ride. Poor baby, hardly had a spot to sit, but it was only about half an hour of discomfort. Here you see friends Eli Easton, Kim Fielding and lyric apted, outside my room at

My first day of retreat was an easy one with only the Dine with an Author event on the schedule. That was an amazing and fabulous party right on the sand with two authors per six or seven readers. We had great getting-to-know-you time plus wild fire dancing entertainment.
Today, I was busy meeting friends in the author’s Lounge, then went on to do our Fun Fire event, Dirty, Stinking Liars, where winners got Kindles, huge collections of books, plus T-shirts, bags, and many other goodies. Tonight, a bunch of us piled in cars to go get barbecue at Ricks, a San Diego institution. Huge fun — even if i’m not much of a barbecue expert — with friends like ZAM, Belinda McBride, Kc Burn, Lynn Lorenz, EM Lynley, and our friend and reader Katy.
Tomorrow is a big day for GRL. For me, i get to go my author storyteller panel with ZA Maxfield and Amy Lane. We’re talking about how Quirk is Our Kink. Then we have the Big Book Signing! It should be fun and crazy and exhausting.
GRL is mostly about friends — old and new. Wish you were all here. : )
