Hi everyone–

I haven’t read the book yet (it’s brand new)  but i read about it on Amazon. The Rusty Nail sounds amazing. My Triberr mate DC McMillen is bringing it to us today and you have a chance to win a copy. Just leave a comment with your email! Now here’s DC.

Life is pretty interesting, if you think about it.

In my experience, the good things that you make happen far outweigh all of the bad shit, and the events that seemed ho-hum at the time end up being the ones you treasure most.

But let’s go back to the bad stuff, just because I’m in that kind of mood.

You ever notice that the totally gawd awful experiences are the ones you laugh over and talk about most? For example, I just went on a vacation to Cuba. The weather was awesome, the beaches were clean and the water was fun and warm. But do you know what story I tell the most about my trip? How I watched the bartender take a straw from the box to tamp down the tips in his tip cup, and then put the straw BACK in the box! Everyone ewh’s and oh’s as they recoil in gleeful horror. Next I will follow up with how much fun the catamaran trip was and I watch people’s eyes glaze over as boredom sets in. So I reel them back by telling them that the catamaran’s washroom was so disgusting my boyfriend actually threw up when he tried to use it. Their faces light back up and they exclaim in delightful horror.

No one wants to hear about other people’s fun yet uneventful activities. And it is the same way with books, isn’t it? You couldn’t pay a person to read about a “nice” trip a (ahem) young couple took to Cuba. They want strife, upset and seemingly insurmountable hurdles that must be overcome in order for the fun and uneventful time to begin. You know that part. It happens when the book ends. And god dammit, if there’s going to be a sequel then I swear to jeebus those characters better have some new shit to wade through. And in my boyfriend’s case, throw up over.

Yep, there’s a reason the book ends at happily ever after. I guess we can all be thankful that that is where fiction and real life differs. Um…at least we can all hope that that’s the case.

Tara, thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to rant about stuff that probably only I think about. Before I go, I’d like to briefly tell everyone about my novella, The Rusty Nail that was published just yesterday!

The Rusty Nail is a novella about a diverse group of characters who somehow find themselves acquainted with a dive bar in the wrong area of town. The entire novella takes place in the span of a single day, and I hope you will be entertained (and turned on) as each character discovers the good, the bad, and the ugly about their partners, themselves, and their hidden sexual desires.

This novella contains blatantly erotic, sexy and graphic M/F, M/M, F/F and even a couple of solo scenes. In other words, this novella is totally hot.  ;)

The Rusty Nail, excerpt

The short ride home was unusually crowded for an early afternoon. We were forced to sit beside each other which made it difficult to think about what it was I wanted from this friendship, like he asked. I kept trying to figure things out but the feel of his slim, hard thigh against my solid, meaty one would make my mind wander. Then I’d have to start all over. It was very unsettling and as I attempted to piece together my thoughts I just ended up feeling like a giant, jumbled mass of confusion sitting on public transit. I mean, I liked hanging out with him. He was fun and cool. But that didn’t mean I wanted more, right? Wanting a man to play video games next to you on your couch was one thing but – the bus went over a bump and our thighs slammed together. His head hit my shoulder and rested there just a moment before he straightened. Where was I? Oh right, sex with Juan.
