I’m so excited to tell you that the re-release of Cataclysmic Shift is only 3 days away. This is a book in my paranormal series called The Aloysius Tales, and the first time it released, some mix ups in categorization meant a lot of people missed the book. If you’ve read either of the other Aloysius Tales — Spell Cat or Brush with Catastrophe — and enjoyed them then you’re not going to want to miss Cataclysmic Shift. But you don’t have to have read those books to enjoy this one.
This story includes not only witches like the other books, but also a shifter, and the coolest cat ever, Aloysius.
Here is the blurb —
Aloysius, the magical black cat and powerful witch’s familiar, isn’t afraid to go into battle to protect his master, but the outcome of the fight turns his feline world upside down. A direct hit of magic steals not only his memories and power, but even the body he’s lived in for several centuries. When he wakes up naked on the floor of a veterinarian’s office, it isn’t as the cat Aloysius, but as the sixteenth-century French gentleman Alain Bellarose. And when Alain sees sexy and enigmatic veterinarian Luke Elliott, he decides he’ll make the best of his time as a human.
Luke is a man with secrets who generally prefers the company of animals—though the flamboyant boy who washes his face with the side of his hand and tries to lick his own privates might prove an exception.
Meanwhile, Witch Master Killian Barth and his secret weapon, Sammy, struggle without Aloysius’s power to draw on. Two evil females are circling, and seeing the coven’s weakness, they’re about to move in for the kill. When Alain’s memories return, he’s faced with the ultimate dilemma: protect his community or stay with the man he loves.

I am snoopy dancin’ all over town. I just received notice today the BOTH Genetic Attraction and The Scientist and the Supermodel were rated 5 Hearts at The Romance Studio. Next week i’ll be asking you to VOTE in the 5 Heart Sweetheart Vote where i will be competing against myself. Oh well, can’t say it’s a bad problem to have!
Here is what Reviewer Shannon said about Genetic Attraction:
Author Tara Lain creates a daring debut with Genetic Attraction an unforgettable story that is quite simply a delectable, sensual and poignant read that captures the heart and soul of the reader. The action never stops, the love story is intriguing and strong and the university and its faculty backdrop create the perfect amount of issues and complications for the lovers to overcome. Em, Jake and Roan are well-drawn three-dimensional characters, who are passionate, genuine, playful, and tender and who understand the underlying power of love. Even though Jake and Roan are in love and has been a committed couple for over a year, Jake still feels a deep love and fascination for Em that doesn’t take away from their love. It is through Jake that Roan has come to love Em even before meeting her. And Emmaline has been fantasizing over Jake for two years so it’s easy to imagine a lasting bond quickly forming between Em and her men. The deep seated passion and sizzling hot sexy shenanigans are graphic, uninhibited and plentiful still emotional as well. The climatic and deep sighing ending will have readers craving for more!
Watch for wonderful talent to rise to the top!

And Reviewer Retta Lee said about The Scientist and the Supermodel:
Ms. Lain tells a great story from the very first page and I found it hard to put down even for a minute. The plot of the story was well thought out and I could really see most of this story really taking place in someone’s life. Both Jake and Roan are great characters. Jake is a very smart person, but like most people he still has many issues he has to deal with. In Roan’s case, he is one of the sexiest men around, but still has a hard time finding people who like him for himself and not just for what he can do for them.
This was the first book I have read from this author. Not only did I enjoy it, but I look forward to reading more from this author and this series.
Sensuality rating: Explicit
These books are available at Amazon, All Romance eBooks, Fictionwise and The Scientist and the Supermodel is now available at Barnes and Noble.
Gotta go dance some more! LOL : )
I think all of you know that The Scientist and the Supermodel won Best Book and Book of the Week at Whipped Cream Reviews. More recently, it received a Reviewers Top Pick at Night Owl Reviews. So just for fun, here is an excerpt from the award-winning book. Hope you enjoy it.
Excerpt R: Tara Lain The Scientist and the Supermodel M/M Erotic Romance
Geneticist Jake Martin has brilliant scientific vision, but he’s blind to his own nature. Despite his flagging interest in women and his past experience with a man, he’s convinced himself he’d be happy if he could just have his older boss, Emmaline Silvay, as his lover. Living in his closeted dream world, he’s unprepared for the powerful attraction he experiences to supermodel Roan Black, “the most beautiful man in the world.” Jake can’t resist the gorgeous, androgynous creature. Who could? he thinks. But Roan refuses to accept him until Jake admits that it’s a man he wants and this man in particular. Jake tells himself it’s just sex, but his refusal to understand what he really needs threatens the best chance at happiness he’s ever had. Is there a future for a PhD scientist who refuses to see and a high school dropout supermodel who understands all too clearly?

Roan grinned. “So tell me something about you nobody else knows.”
Jake turned his head and spoke into the chair cushion. “I guess I could tell you about Tom.” What the fuck did I just say? That straightened him up in a hurry.
“Nobody. Don’t know why I said that. Must be drunk.” He hauled himself from the chair and paced to the minibar for another bottle.
“Sounds like Tom is someone you want me to know about.”
Shaking his head, Jake sat on the edge of the bed with his water bottle then realized where he was and jumped up. “Naw. He’s just somebody I think about sometimes.”
“And why did you think of him now?”
Jake cleared his throat. “He was gay. Or is gay. I haven’t seen him for a while.”
“And he was your friend?”
Sitting back in the chair, Jake stared at his hands. “Yeah. He was so damn good to me, and I think I took bad advantage of him. I used him like he was nothing, like he wasn’t a kind and good guy who really cared about me.” He jumped up again. “Oh shit, why am I talking about this?”
Roan stood and took Jake’s hand and led him to the couch to sit beside him. “Because I’m a stranger, and I’m gay, and you can’t talk to Tom to say you’re sorry, right?”
Jake let himself be guided onto the couch. “Yeah, I lost track of him. No idea where he is. But I hope he’s happy, ’cause he deserves it.” Jake was shocked to feel tears prickle behind his eyes. “Shit, I’m sorry. I’m still drunk.”
Roan leaned back so he was just a deep, soft voice behind Jake. “Want to tell me about Tom?”
Jake put his face in his hands for a minute. “He sucked my cock.”
There was a beat of time before Roan said, “Why’d he do that?”
Jake looked up sheepishly. “To relax me?”
A soft chuckle. “Now that’s a great line I’m gonna have to try.”
“No, seriously, I was trying to get my dissertation done, and I was freaking out, running out of time, trying to prepare for the orals. I never had time to date, so I wasn’t having any sex. I guess I was moaning about it one day, and Tom was there. He’d been my friend since undergraduate school. I knew he was gay, he knew I was straight, and we just got along. Basically, he offered to suck my cock. Said it would get me off better than my own hand. I was shocked, but he was so cool about it. Said I should try it before I condemned it.”
“Not right then. But the days passed, and I got more tired and hornier, and I was wearing the skin off my hand. One day I said yes. Tom said I should just close my eyes and pretend it was the head cheerleader sucking me.”
“Another line I’ve got to remember.”
“He undid my pants, and I broke out in a cold sweat. But then he started to suck me. Shit, I gotta admit, it took me about ten seconds to not care that he was a guy. Jeez, could he suck cock. I’ve never had a girl before or since who was so good.”
“For girls it’s a frill; for us it’s a main event. It pays to get good at it. So that’s why you wanted to know about cock sucking?”
“Anyway, so what’s the problem? You enjoyed it; I’m sure he enjoyed it. Nobody got hurt.”
If you haven’t read The Scientist and the Supermodel yet, i hope you’ll give it a try and find out what all the shouting is about. LOL Thanks so much for visiting the blog. : )
I was just sorting through some of my notes and posts from the Blog Tour we just finished and i realized i need to get busy booking new blog appearances for the next three books! Books are on their way. The first is my romantic suspense!
This week, i’m finishing the second round of edits for Golden Dancer which releases on September 27. I’ll be turning in all the information that Loose Id needs to develop my cover. I can’t wait for this one. There’s so much to work with — a ballet dancer, three gorgeous men, an art theft, a kidnapping, threatening sons-of-Nazis. At the heart of the book is the unlikely relationship between an investigative reporter, a billionaire art collector who just might also be a thief, and a world famous male ballet dancer. The picture posted here is my inspiration for Trelain Medveyev, the dancer.
I’ll not only be taking Golden Dancer on a blog tour, i’ll also be featuring it at GayRomLit in New Orleans, October 13-16. I hope some of you will be there! Because i won’t have my cover for awhile, i asked the wonderful artist (and writer), Mina Carter, to develop a logo that i can use on some of the Golden Dancer Swag. Here it is:
I’m going to be putting this on some cool backpacks that i’ll give away to those who attend my reading at GayRomLit. I hope i’ll have some left to offer in a contest when i get back.
Over the next couple weeks, i’ll also bring you up to date on the other new releases you can expect this fall and winter as well as some hints about my WIP. Plus, watch for the first excerpts from Golden Dancer. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. : )

Hi everyone —
Winners!! The last of the Winners of The Scientist and the Supermodel and Genetic Attraction (for awhile) are JoAnna Becker and Marybelle. Congratulations you two!
The new Blog Tour for Volley Balls has already begun. If you posted a comment this last week, you are already entered. BUT, if you posted before last week you have to enter again to win Volley Balls. So any comments on the last two posts by me — the Last Chance post and the Volley Balls Release Day post — i already have entered in the contest. Same rules as last contest. Comment here for all the weeks entry and on the individual guest blogs for extra entries during that week. I’ll do another post tomorrow or Monday and explain all the rules again for the newbies. But you seasoned veterans, go ahead and comment to get entered.
Tomorrow — Sunday July 3 — i will be chatting at Love Romances Cafe with a bunch of authors from Loose Id. I’ll be posting excerpts from The Scientist and the Supermodel and Genetic Attraction. Stop by if you have some time. There will be great excerpts, books and prizes to win and i’m thinking i might give away some swag! So come on over and say hi.
This coming week i am guesting at two totally cool blogs — with Doctor Charley and Tristram LaRoche. If you met them on my Author Blog, you know how great they are. I’ll post the links tomorrow.
BTW, i’m the featured Author at The Romance Studio Rainbow Studio this month. There’s no place to post a comment, but if you come back here and comment telling me what are one of the two guilty pleasures i mention, i’ll give you an extra entry in next week’s drawing for Volley Balls.
Hope you’re having a great weekend and a super holiday (US buddies). Thank you so much for coming by.
I first want to thank you all for participating in this weeks Blog Tour Drawing! We had a lot of enthusiastic commenters on all the blogs this week. The drawing happened this morning and i emailed the winners — Cici who won The Scientist and the Supermodel and Chele who won Genetic Attraction! BUT … i haven’t heard back from either of them yet, so, while i think i have the right email addresses, i won’t call this drawing complete until i hear back. If i have to do another drawing, i’ll let you know.
Tomorrow, Sunday, i’ll be posting the events for the Week 3 Blog Tour Contest! It’s going to be a fun week. And speaking of fun …
here is an important event announcement that i think you’ll want to come see. This is a special chance to WIN either The Scientist and the Supermodel or Volley Balls, along with a bunch of other marvelous author’s books. Here’s an announcement from author, Ethan Day.

Welcome back to Blog Tour Central. We just announced this week’s winners of The Scientist and the Supermodel and Genetic Attraction. On to Week 2!
If you’ve read the Contest Rules, you know that by posting a comment on this blog and following the blog (if you don’t already) you will automatically get one entry in every contest until the end of the month (If you don’t see a lot of comments, don’t get too self-assured since we had MANY last week and they still apply to the 4 more drawings LOL). In addition to commenting here on this blog, you can earn additional entries by posting comments on the blogs where i am guesting this week (these entries do not carry over, so everyone is on an even playing field.) There are not as many blogs this week as last, so it should be easy to get the extra points and have a good shot at winning.
On Monday June 6, i have the joy of guest blogging with Liz Silver and Jenny Urban at UrbanSilver I’m talking about the difference in erotica and erotic romance, an often asked question.
On Wednesday, June 8, i will be at Paperback Dolls The very fun blog post is called Where the Boys Are. It traces my travels and tells you where in the world to find the most beautiful men!
Also remember, i’m a featured author at The Romance Studio TRS Blue all month. There’s no place to comment, but if you go there and read the interview, come back here and post a comment saying where i say i am going on vacation this year. You’ll get an extra point.
And here’s something special. I’ll be posting at The Romance Studio Party on thursday all day. Come there and leave me a comment and you’ll earn another point.
Next Saturday, i’ll be stopping by Ethan Day’s Gay Day and at Whipped Cream with Selena Illyria in the evening. But by then we’ll be moving on to week 3!
Thanks so much to everyone for your enthusiasm and all the wonderful things you’ve been saying about The Scientist and the Supermodel. I can’t begin to express how grateful i am. : )
Lots of new stuff in Tara Lain world. I spent a part of the weekend updating the website. There are pages for the new books, Deceptive Attraction and Golden Dancer. There is a new Events page that has links to information on the upcoming Blog Tour and Contest, as well as some announcements about my upcoming guests on my AUTHOR blog as well as chats. I even updated the Press Room and added a news release about the contracts, and gave you a hint about my new WIP.
Very exciting — author and friend, Belinda McBride, will be visiting the author blog on May 16. She is the writer of Uncommon Whore and so many other great books. And there will be a CONTEST for a super t-shirt. Also, i expect to have friend, Z A Maxfield on the blog very soon, so check the website Events page for that coming event.
And, of course, my BLOG TOUR for the release of The Scientist and the Supermodel and Volley Balls begins May 28. Check out the schedule on the website events page because the contest will apply to every blog i visit.
Okay, that’s an update. Make sure you check out that Book Trailer i worked on LOL! Talk soon. : )
