Hi — Are you one of the many who love Beauty and the Beast? Well BEAUTY is coming from Tara Lain. I don’t think i realized when i chose to do a modern retelling of this fairy tale — my story is called BEAUTY,INC.– how many people love it. I also didn’t know that the live action movie would be released at the end of the year. So all happy coincidences. In case you haven’t see it, here’s a look at the trailer for the movie.
My story follows the general theme of the original. A beautiful young man, Robert “Belle” Belleterre, who is also a brilliant chemist is rather sold down the river by his misadventurous father and winds up in the clutches of “the beast”, a rival cosmetics executive who is known for his brilliance and his ugly face. It was extremely fun creating a “palace” for Belle to live in while he’s with the beast — in my case a wonderfully eccentric apartment building in Brooklyn full of wild and loving characters. I also got creative with my beast and wrote a hero who is beautiful every way except physically.
